Veterans Offered Free Fishing Trips

LeisureTyme.net, LLC has announced its “Take a Vet Fishing” initiative as a way for all boaters and fishing enthusiasts across the nation to say Thank You to service men and women for their courage and commitment to the nation’s safety and security.

Andy Powers, owner of a 32 ft. Trojan Sportfisherman Anticipation which is docked in City Island, NY. is planning several one day fishing trips on Western Long Island Sound during 2007 and up to three U.S. combat veterans are welcomed aboard for each trip. In further support for the Vietnam Veteran Association’s new program, Never Again Shall One Generation of Veterans Forget Another, this offer is open to all combat veterans of all generations. LeisureTyme.net, LLC is also in discussions with the VVA through their support staff designate, Ms. Adrian Gugliermo, planning further initiatives to further their mission

to provide assistance to combat veterans returning from Iraq and Afghanistan as well as other Vets who need assistance.

According to Mr. Powers, any active or retired combat veteran who would like to join him for a day fishing this area can leave a message on the Take a Vet Fishing Forum on the LeisureTyme website (www.leisuretyme.net) and he will do his best to accommodate them. “All they need to bring is a fishing pole and their lunch”. Because the Anticipation practices safe boating, intoxication is taboo and no illegal drugs or weapons are permitted on board.

If you like fishing and want to say “Thank You” to a Vet, visit the forum and post where you like to fish and if your invitation involves your own boat, a party or charter boat or just a day on a lake or along a stream as well as when and how many Vets you can accommodate.
